There are 26 episodes in the first two seasons of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - but there is more to come It was essentially a stretched A300 with the same wing, coupled with the most powerful turbofan engine available at the time. The B9 was developed by Airbus from the early 1970s at a slow pace until the early 1980s. The A300B11 was joined by another design, the A300B9, which was a larger derivative of the A300. It was deemed a replacement for the less-efficient Boeing 707s and Douglas DC-8s still in service. Using four engines, it would seat between 180 and 200 passengers, and have a range of 6,000 nautical miles (11,000 km 6,900 mi). The A300B11, a derivative of the A310, was designed upon the availability of "ten ton" thrust engines. As the SA or "single aisle" studies (which later became the successful Airbus A320) underwent development to challenge the successful Boeing 737 and Douglas DC-9 in the single-aisle, narrow-body airliner market, Airbus turned its focus back to the wide-body aircraft market. The decision to work on the A320, instead of a four-engine aircraft proposed by the Germans, created divisions within Airbus. Airbus then focused its efforts on the single-aisle market, which resulted in the Airbus A320 family, which was the first digital fly-by-wire commercial aircraft. It was a smaller aircraft that would be developed into the long-range Airbus A310. A tenth variation, conceived in 1973, later the first to be constructed, was designated the A300B10. Prior to the service introduction of the first Airbus airliners, Airbus had identified nine possible variations of the A300 known as A300B1 to B9. From the moment of formation, Airbus had begun studies into derivatives of the Airbus A300B in support of this long-term goal. When Airbus designed the Airbus A300 during the 1970s it envisioned a broad family of airliners to compete against Boeing and McDonnell Douglas, two established US aerospace manufacturers. See also: Development of the Airbus A330 Background Compared to the A340 quadjet (flying), the lighter A330 (on ground) has two engines and no centre-line wheel bogie Lufthansa is the largest A340 operator with 27 aircraft in its fleet. As of March 2023, there were 203 A340 aircraft in service with 45 operators worldwide. By the end of 2021, the global A340 fleet had completed more than 2.5 million flights over 20 million block hours and carried over 600 million passengers with no fatalities. The A350 is its successor the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 and the Boeing 777 were its main competitors. On 10 November 2011, Airbus announced that the production reached its end, after 380 orders had been placed and 377 delivered from Toulouse, France. The longest A340-600 was stretched to 75.4 m (247 ft), then the longest airliner, to accommodate 320–370 passengers over 14,450 km (7,800 nmi 8,980 mi).Īs improving engine reliability allowed ETOPS operations for almost all routes, more economical twinjets have replaced quadjets on many routes. The later A340-500/600 have a larger wing and are powered by 275 kN (62,000 lbf) Rolls-Royce Trent 500 for a heavier 380 t (840,000 lb) MTOW. Both airliners have fly-by-wire controls, which was first introduced on the A320, as well as a similar glass cockpit. Differences include four 151 kN (34,000 lbf) CFM56s instead of two high-thrust turbofans to bypass ETOPS restrictions on trans-oceanic routes, and a three-leg main landing gear instead of two for a heavier 276 t (608,000 lb) MTOW. Keeping the eight-abreast economy cross-section of the A300, the early A340-200/300 has a similar airframe to the A330. The larger A340-500/600 were launched on 8 December 1997 the A340-600 flew for the first time on 23 April 2001 and entered service on 1 August 2002. It was certified along with the A340-200 on 22 December 1992 and both versions entered service in March 1993 with launch customers Lufthansa and Air France. In June 1987, Airbus launched both designs with their first orders and the A340-300 took its maiden flight on 25 October 1991. In the mid-1970s, Airbus conceived several derivatives of the A300, its first airliner, and developed the A340 quadjet in parallel with the A330 twinjet. The Airbus A340 is a long-range, wide-body passenger airliner that was developed and produced by Airbus. 15 March 1993 30 years ago ( ) with Lufthansa & Air France Photo by Min An on Planting the Seeds for Active Listening We all have a lot going on, but that’s no excuse for not making the space for others to tell their story. Having a support system that checks you when you are getting burned out can prevent my experience from happening to anyone else. If you ever experienced a not so happy or warm therapist in your life, know that my heart goes out to you. I did what I had to for the assignment and never went back because of this interaction. Who knows what other responsibilities were on his plate but if you’re in this profession, connection is key. His body language was even cold and distant. He came across as too busy to focus on what I was telling him and I felt very rushed. The therapist seemed like he wasn’t even listening to what I had to say. Even from the first session, I didn’t feel comfortable. This was a great idea, but it made me see the importance of your gut instinct with a therapist. In my masters program we had to go to therapy sessions as an assignment for a class to give us firsthand experience on the other side of the desk. Photo by Alex Green on Why the Relationship Matters Make sure you feel comfortable talking with your therapist because the trust and openness you feel with them determines if therapy works. A strong therapeutic relationship can make or break future progress. Rogers’s theory looks at the relationship between the therapist and client to model what a healthy relationship is so the skills learned can trickled down to other relationships in the individual’s life. Empathy is connecting with the other person by joining them in their struggle.Įmpathy is a cornerstone to healthy relationships. Sympathy means feeling sorry for someone else but not being able to put yourself in their shoes. His model of therapy is based on empathy. Photo by Alexandr Podvalny on Rogerian Modelīack to Carl Rogers. It’s good, but there are many other ways to be the best listener. I often use this skill as a part of my own work with clients. Linda in the Netflix original Lucifer definitely used this skill. Reflecting is important, but should not be the only way we listen. This is the classic therapist you see in popular movies and shows. So, you hear what’s said, change it a little, and say it back. Reflecting is just what it sounds like: you’re the mirror. In this sea of listening, what does reflective listening have to to with active listening? Well, the journey to active started with reflective. You might be half-listening, hearing what you want to hear, or letting it go in one ear and out the other. During his studies, reflective listening was born. Photo by Eren Li on History of Active ListeningĬarl Rogers first studied listening skills in healthy relationships. Well, that’s the breakdown, so let’s jump in. The goal is to narrow these down and make it easier to become second nature for you. Active Listening might be the last piece you’ve been missing to build the bridge from acquaintances to best buds.įinally, how do you practice active listening? What steps can you take today to get better at the receiving end of the conversation? There’s tons of information out there on Active Listening skills. Second, why is active listening so important? How could Active Listening make you a better friend? Lasting Relationships need strong communication. Rodgers gave the power back to the client. He focused on clients as the experts in their lives. His work on how to talk with people caused a shift in how the roles in a therapeutic relationship were defined. Photo by Tirachard Kumtanom on All the pieces to Active Listeningįirst, the history of active listening, starting with Carl Rogers that setting the wheels in motion. Active listening might be what you need to up your friend game. Others might have to work on these skills every single day to get it right. We all drift off in conversations, but what can you do today to become a better listener? Some people are naturally great listeners. Tuning out the noise in our heads and switching gears to fully pay attention to what someone’s saying might take some work. If you already have a smart home device like an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, an indoor security camera can enhance your home’s features. With two-way talking capabilities, they can also provide commands for the pet to get it to behave. On a similar note, pet owners can keep an eye on their dog or cat while they’re away. Indoor security cameras are great for capturing the moment a child decides to climb out of a crib or get into something else in their room. Much like how baby monitors made life easier for parents, indoor security cameras can do the same. Often thieves will sit on a spot days in advance before targeting it so if an indoor security camera captures suspicious-looking people, you can alert your neighbors. That video can help neighbors as well, so they know what (or who) to look for around the neighborhood. Plus, they capture video, which is great for tracking down thieves. An indoor camera can capture break-ins as well as porch pirates. The main reason people purchase indoor security cameras is to ward off thieves of all kinds. Installing an indoor security camera comes with its perks, including the safety of your home and family, but also peace of mind with children and pets, smart home security and more. Do your due diligence before picking a camera. Some companies don’t require a subscription but won’t offer the video backup that you’d like. Some home security companies have subscriptions for a handful of dollars a month while others can charge up to $50 a month.ĭo a thorough assessment of your needs with an indoor security camera before signing up for a subscription. Home indoor security camera makers will offer all sorts of add-ons that sound useful but they all come at a cost. Think of event history like motion detection in a sense where the camera will begin recording after sensing movement. Event history is a more important consideration when it comes to capturing video, so look for packages that will cover that at the best cost. Some brands offer days of 24/7 video coverage, which is nice but often unnecessary. Other brands will use the cloud for video data storage, but how much and what it records will often depend upon the subscription model that you choose to purchase with the camera. Some brands will provide just a day or two of video backup if they use an SD card or something similar. Pay attention to the data storage capability of the home indoor security camera that you’re interested in purchasing. Sometimes a lower-priced home security camera will provide all the bells and whistles as a more expensive brand. Price shouldn’t be one of those impediments, since many low-cost home security cameras offer the same picture quality and field of view of the more expensive brands.īe sure to check the specifications of each model that you’re considering and compare to find the best deal. The world of indoor security cameras is full of options and navigating through those choices seems full of obstacles. Tip Shape: There are three tip shapes that you will commonly see on eyeliners, angled, round, and flat.Start with a light coat of your desired formula and build up if needed. The biggest downside to this type of eyeliner is that it can be difficult to get an even application. Double ended eyeliner pencils are the most versatile type of eyeliners because they can be used with both cream and liquid liner formulas. They have bristles on one end that help apply product evenly across the lash line. Brush applicators are better for broad strokes. These applicators have a small, soft felt tip that is designed purely for distributing product along your lash line.
“Once you've got that FIA support and backing, that also gives us a broader audience.” Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles arguably have an even worse reputation for lacking excitement than BEVs, as there aren’t any halo FCEVs like the Tesla Model S Plaid or Rimac Nevera, at least not in production yet. “The credibility of the championship goes through the roof,” says Grain. The FIA World Championship status for Extreme E will help with this. It’s a great way of publicising that EVs aren’t just for the school run and going down the shops. “But Extreme E has demonstrated that EVs can be rugged, tough, and exciting. “People see an EV as a functional car,” says Grain. It has been proposed once before and this additional suggestion is not based on settled science but on mounting evidence: Canterbury should consider running a 67-day meet featuring ostrich, zebra and camel racing each year, mixing in a thoroughbred/quarter horse day here and there.Įvidence suggests that would reverse what is now occurring: Solid attendance for horse racing and stupendous attendance whenever the wild beasts run.So far, Extreme E has successfully promoted messages of sustainability, alongside equality between the sexes, but also that EVs don’t have to be boring. Just imagine, sizeable crowds to watch the critters of the desert sands and average attendance of 16,000 to say 21,000 for horse racing. Canterbury Park would become the envy of the racing world. The brain trusts at Santa Anita, Churchill Downs and Belmont would be forced to bow down to an enterprise in existence only since 1985. “Yeah,” someone would say, “but what was the per capita?” “They ran thoroughbreds and quarter horses there yesterday and had a crowd of 29,000.” “Hey, did you see what they drew at Canterbury on Friday,” someone would say in a California or New York racing boardroom. “They sold 33,000 hot dogs, the same number of pizza slices and several hundred gallons of Pepsi products, not to mention 300 barrels of beer.” “Never mind the per cap,” someone would reply. Per capita spending on wagering alone, say 50 bucks, would rise to $450 when concessions are added. Granted, such a shift to extreme day racing on a full-time basis could not be made without possible pitfalls, but right now, based on what happened at Canterbury Park on Saturday (a crowd of 13,315) and in years past, this latest proposal seems sound. The perfect name for the 2017 rendition of Extreme Day, as it is known, should actually be Nik Goodwin day, based on how he kicked off Saturday’s proceedings. Goodwin, you might recall, celebrated the 1,000th thoroughbred winner of his career recently. Saturday, he became the all time leader in quarter horse winners at Canterbury, riding Lota James in the Dash in a Flash Stakes, an Extreme Day 110 yard sprint. That gave him 108 overall, one more than Ry Eikleberry. Then, in the Duck Race, he made trainer Randy Pfeifer a first-time winner this meet aboard Choral Song. “Been a good day,” Goodwin said matter of factly.īefore we recount the events of the day, there are additional suggestions to be made. For instance, in the race called the Battle of the Surfaces, pitting horses on the turf against others on the grass. It is an amazing spectacle, watching two races being run as one. Next year, why not add the training track beyond the main track and turf course to create even more excitement. Maybe even run quarter horses on the training track, for an added dimension. Just imagine, watching three races at the same time but it is actually one race. What a reason to skip the cabin, fishing, boating on the St. It would be better than the State Fair, Valley Fair and the Scott County Fair all in one. A three for one deal, so to speak.Īs good as Extreme Day already is, it can certainly benefit from implementing these suggestions. It has been several years since a turf horse has won the battle of the surfaces, but that changed on Saturday. Nutty Futty, ridden by Leslie Mawing, was the winner, breaking from the No. The next three finishers also ran on the grass. There were 11 starters on the turf, nine on the dirt.įormer pressbox assistant Michelle Benson, the winning rider in last year’s Camelbury Dash, now works in advertising for the Thoroughbred Daily News in New Jersey. She shipped in Saturday, hoping to defend her crown aboard last year’s winner, Rock N Spit. Her mount did not break well and ran even worse and she was of the mind afterward that she had been aboard a ringer, simply tagged with the same name. “I don’t think it was the same camel,” Michelle said. Penn State would win 37–13 thanks to a 28-point third quarter off the back of a plethora of Spartan interceptions. Students were sent from dorm to dorm to spread the word to maximize participation. This time, however, the Athletic Department decided to change strategy with a "Code Blue" dress code and extended it to all fans in the stadium. A final attempt was made for the final game of the season against Michigan State. While the "wear white" participation was about the same as it was in the previous game, the crushing 6–4 loss resulted in a drop in popularity of the event. Students were again asked to wear white to the following game against Iowa in what is considered to be one of the program's worst outings. Over 20,000 students participated and, despite losing the game, it was deemed a success. In 2004, to try and draw extra excitement for the team in what was a down year for the program, the Penn State Athletic Department asked students to wear white to the upcoming game against Purdue. Dubbed "Operation Visine" (to "get the red out"), this precursor to the modern White Out worked, as there was not only record attendance, most of whom were Penn State fans, but the Nittany Lions upset #7 Nebraska 40–7. An email began to be circulated amongst Penn State fans to both wear blue to the game and not to sell their tickets to Cornhusker fans. In 2002, leading up to a much hyped up game against Nebraska, there was a fear that a "Sea of Red" would overtake the stands in Beaver Stadium. The White Out is the football program’s premier home event, and as such, it frequently touts some of Penn State’s biggest rivalries, non-conference opponents, and highly rated recruiting opportunities. Six other teams have each made a single appearance, of which only three were not members of the Big Ten Conference. Iowa is currently scheduled to become the third team to make multiple appearances, with its second during the 2023-24 season. Ohio State has appeared in the second most with five. Michigan has appeared in the most White Out games, currently sitting at six. During these games, Zombie Nation's Kernkraft 400 replaces Fight On, State as the fight song after Penn State scores. All White Out games are showcased with an advanced fireworks display lining the east and west (long ends) of Beaver Stadium. It has been described as "the best atmosphere in college football." It is also among the most expensive regular season games of college football, with ticket prices ranging upwards of $250. The White Out is a tradition at the Pennsylvania State University during select Nittany Lions home football games, where all spectators come dressed in white. Not to be confused with Winnipeg White out. How do I get a handle on that image in memory so that I can do cv2.imshow('image',img) and all kinds of cool stuff thereafter. However, from the errors that I encountered, I guess it is expecting a numpy array or a scalar as the first argument. The documentation doesn't really mention what the imdecode function returns. Img = cv2.imdecode(file_bytes, 0) #Here as well I get returned nothing inmemfile io.BytesIO() img.save(inmemfile, format 'PNG') reset file pointer to start ek(0) imgbytes inmemfile.read() base64encodedresultbytes base64.b64encode(imgbytes) base64encodedresultstr base64. You can achieve this without creating a temporary file by using an in memory file, with io.BytesIO(). Getting the bytes from decoded string and converting it into an numpy array of sorts file_bytes = numpy.asarray(bytearray(imgdata), dtype=numpy.uint8) You need to base64 encode before you can decode. I tried img = cv2.imdecode(npImage,0), this returns nothing. But the problem is: my API needs to be able to receive a base64 encoded image and return one of my categories from an array, like: categories 'dog', 'cat' not a number like the prediction variable API from the tutorial returns. I get cv not defined as I have openCV3 installed which is available to me as cv2 module. Using PIL reference: pilImage = Image.open(StringIO(imgdata)) I have tried two solutions that seem to be working for some people. I want to be able to read the image into the memory directly creating the img object. However I don't think so many File IO operations are feasible considering I'd be doing this for every frame of the stream. The above code snippet works and the image file gets generated properly. Imgdata = base64.b64decode(imgstring) #I use imgdata as this variable itself in references below print (picture.format) If the image is stored as hex in a plaintext file picturecode.dat similar to your Google Docs link, it needs to first be. So, I designed my client codeto encode the image into a base64 string and send it to the server, which received it succesfully. I found it effective to convert the byte of the image into base64 and transmit it. From this SO answer, if I do something like: import base64 If the image is stored as a binary file, open it directly: import PIL Create Image object picture ('picturecode.dat') display image picture.show () print whether JPEG, PNG, etc. I am trying to make a code for image style transfer based on FastAPI. I added the line of code to output enc_file to a text document, and that is the correct Base64 which can then be converted back to an image. This issue is that whenever I try to put it into MongoDB it is giving me a different string. I am trying to take an image and upload that to my MongoDB as base64. Below is the Python code that am using to try to get this done. Connect D1 to D3 red LEDs which indicates shut down stage of your battery and use D8-D10.
